Divisions & Units
I am honored and humbled to serve the citizens of York County by successfully accomplishing my duties as undersheriff. I am also proud to serve with Sheriff Kevin Tolson and the dedicated men and women of the York County Sheriff’s Office.
My heartfelt desire is to faithfully serve the citizens of York County as a “public servant” and “servant leader.”
Major Robert J. Hudgins, Undersheriff
The Administrative Services Division is directed by the Administrative Captain. Within the division are several units that include; Office of Professional Standards, Training Unit, Accreditation, Sex Offender Registry, Records Management, Information Technology Systems Unit, and Quartermaster. In addition to the specialized units, the division is also involved in grant preparation and management.
Criminal Investigations Division
The Detention Center is charged with holding individuals who have been arrested by various law enforcement agencies in York County and held until they post bond or are ordered released by a court or transferred to a state institution after court sentencing.
Support Services includes many services and special programs offered by the Sheriff's Office, including the K-9 Unit, Lake Enforcement Unit, Criminal Intelligence/Homeland Security Unit, Court Security Unit, Code Enforcement Unit, School Resource Officer Unit, Victim's Assistance Unit, Honor Guard, Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT), Dive Team and Mounted Patrol.
Uniform & Field Services Division
The Uniform and Field Services Division is comprised of Patrol, Civil Process and Warrants, Traffic Enforcement and Communications.
